Christian Dior’s Iconic suit Bar made its debut at his first ever haute couture collection in 1947. Paired with a long, pleated black skirt, the jacket is made of an ivory silk and is closely fitted at a corsetted waist. The hip is padded giving the illusion of a peplum. This ensemble was a shock to the press, and helped to create the birth of the ‘New Look’.
